The focus of Canary Garden is to support children who have lost a parent, sibling, cousin, or other significant person. Children are divided into age groups where they learn skills to give expression to their grief. Parents of the children also meet weekly to learn how to companion their children on their grief journey. Support is also available for adults who are suffering another loss, most typically a spouse or partner. Groups are facilitated by trained volunteers who have passed a background check. Participants who require professional services are encouraged to explore community resources. There is no charge for Canary Garden and all grievers are welcome.
