Eligibility

Household must not earn more than 50% of the area medium income as published by HUD. Program participants pay at least 30% of their gross adjusted income but not more than 40% of their gross adjusted income. The unit must pass a housing inspection.

Housing Choice Voucher Program, formerly known as Section 8, provides monthly rental assistance as a long term assistance to eligible households. The Housing Authority does not own any housing. Program participants must locate housing that the Housing Authority approves. For a limited time, those who qualify for rent and utility payment assistance, may also qualify for water payment assistance.
