Eligibility

A person must have a physical or mental disability which impairs activities of daily living and a reasonable expectation must exist that UILCA's services will increase independence. Utility payment assistance is available with stringent and specific eligibilities, and must be COVID-19 related and verifiable.

Assistance available only to those with significant and verifiable disabilities. Missed utility payments must be COVID-19 related. Assistance is available for up to 3 months of arrearage with specific dollar amount caps. Funding available through September 2021 or until exhausted.

Utah Independent Living Center
A nonprofit, non-residential agency that assists persons with disabilities to achieve greater independence by providing services and activities that enhance independent living skills. Provides advocacy, independent living skills instruction for people of all ages, a nursing home transition financing program, specialized information and referral, assistive technology equipment loans, life skills education for youth, general recreational activities/sports, and peer counseling.
