Provides food and shelter in the aftermath of man-made or natural disasters, assists members of armed forces and their families with emergency communications, teaches lifesaving skills, e.g. First Aid, CPR, AED, babysitting, wilderness first aid. Conducts various emergency preparedness trainings. All American Red Cross disaster assistance and emergency preparedness trainings are free, made possible by voluntary donations of time and money from the American people.

Services provided include disaster related shelter, disaster donations coordination, post disaster food services, emergency preparedness and response training, post disaster emergency medical care, first aid instruction, water safety education, armed forces emergency services, emergency communications, post disaster mental health services, smoke alarms, and disaster preparedness information.
