Eligibility

For pregnant mothers and children birth - 3 years old. Must meet one of the following qualifications: family income at or below federal poverty guidelines; receiving certain forms of public assistance (TANF/FEP or SSI); applying on behalf of a foster child placed in DCFS custody; currently homeless. Mountainland Head Start may also serve a limited number of children with special needs who would not otherwise qualify for services.

Provides support and education to parents on the development of their children. Early Head Start is available in Spanish Fork and Juab County only. Home visits occur for 90 minutes once a week. Parents enroll online and can schedule the home visits whenever the family advocates in the area are available. Twice per month, the program offers opportunities for parents and children to come together as a group in the classroom for learning, discussion, and socialization activities.
