Topics for younger children include personal safety and sexual abuse prevention. Topics for older students or community groups include dynamics of abuse, dating violence, stress management, depression & suicide prevention and positive child guidance.

Assessments conducted by a therapist to determine the need for mental health services based on the existence, nature, and extent of the mental illness. May include diagnosing and treatment planning.

Offers outpatient community mental health programs to clients on probation, parole, or who have been referred to treatment by the criminal justice system. Evidenced-based practices are utilized to assess and treat through the development of individualized treatment plans that support individuals in addressing mental health, substance use disorders, or co-occurring symptomology that allows them to maintain compliance with court-ordered recommendations and return home to society as an alternative to incarceration.

Provides a comprehensive array of mental health services, education and counseling for children and their parents to effect positive behavioral change.

NPE is used to assess individual strengths and difficulties. Can take anywhere from 2 to 8 hours to complete. Also offers learning disability evaluations.

Provides school-based behavioral health programs by partnering with several local school districts in Salt Lake County. The programs bring evidence-based approaches to school environments. Placing therapists in schools makes therapy easy to access for children and their families, encouraging therapeutic relationship building, as well as the development of problem-solving and coping skills.

Provides domestic violence prevention programs to schools and the community through education and awareness. Programs include online articles and presentations to community groups.

The class runs for 8 weeks. If childcare is needed during the class, call the Nursery Coordinator in advance to schedule time. In-home parenting classes are also available for those who cannot attend the class at the center. Both parenting courses meet the requirements for court orders.

Therapy options include play therapy, sand tray therapy, family therapy, marriage therapy, and individual therapy.

Youth Enhancement of Social Skills (YESS) teaches topics on communication, teamwork, expressing emotions, safety, and peer relations. Other children currently enrolled in therapy at an alternative agency will be considered with a referral from their current therapist, however, priority will be given to agency clients.

Provides crisis care to children 0-11 years of age. Due to restrictions, the Crisis Respite Nursery is unable to provide service to children with severe physical, medical, or mental disabilities.

Provides a comprehensive array of mental health services, delivered according to best practice guidelines and with respect to appropriate medical necessity. Generally, services and individual psychotherapy are acquired by referral from the particular client's therapist (including medication management services).

When determined as necessary as part of a rehabilitative treatment plan, services are provided in an outpatient, day treatment program, residential program, or other appropriate setting. These services assist individuals in developing competence in basic living skills such as meal planning, shopping, food preparation, money management, mobility, grooming, personal hygiene, and maintenance of a living environment.

Provides services for homeless youth and those who are severely and persistently mentally ill (SPMI). Services include a non-traditional outpatient unit tailored to this unique population, as well as transitional and permanent housing, alcohol and drug treatment, and Shelter+ Care vouchers.

Centralized intake provides screening, assessment, therapy, medication management, and case management services for those with mental illness and behavioral health concerns. Services are available throughout Salt Lake in a variety of settings including outpatient clinics, day treatment, step-down residential programs, and community based programs. Intake coordinators work to understand client symptoms and concerns, identify barriers to treatment, verify payment options, and refer clients to appropriate treatment.

Assessments offered are autism diagnosis, mental health assessments for children, parent and child relationship assessments.

Employment Program enables members to return to paid work through transitional and independent employment. Members obtain confidence, self-respect, and vocational skills through community-based employment. Transitional Employment is a work training program that provides members with part-time, entry-level job placement with local businesses. Independent Employment assists members to secure, sustain, and upgrade their own employment.

Emergency Services to individuals in the tri-county area experiencing immediate, debilitating, or life-threatening complications as a result of serious mental illness.

Provides comprehensive neuropsychological and psychological evaluation to children, adolescents, and adults presenting with various brain based disorders including ADHD, Autism, depression, anxiety, traumatic brain injury, dementia, PTSD, and other developmental disabilities. Also provides structured behavioral modification, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, social skills training, educational and IEP planning and cognitive rehabilitation.
